Ramblings

< RAMBLE >Big game is coming up this weekend against Stanf***. We better win that’s all I know. Cooking is cool when the food turns out well. Too bad it takes so much time to plan what you’re gonna make, what you need, time all the different things right so they finish at about the same time. As if last year’s stint with the dorm food wasn’t enough to make me never take my mom’s home cooking for granted, now that I’ve got to cook for myself I even more grateful. Day in day out she was doin’ it. Parents are cool, no question.

So its funny how this music thing goes. Although I know plenty of people who never buy music anymore because its just available for free most of the time, I know just as many people who buy the music of the artists or groups that they really love. I have transitioned from the former group to the latter over the last few years. It went something like this: I started out grabbing all kinds of music, tons and tons of it and listening to it. This is different than what I was doing before because the radio isnt good exposure to music at all. As the time passed I realized my tastes in music and I sort of narrowed the scope of things that I was bothering to listen to. Now its down to a point where I know who I’m feeling and when those artists put out good music that makes me feel good or I like to listen to then there’s no question that I’m going to support that artist. It needs to be done so that they will be able to put out yet another album of music for me to enjoy. I’ve just found myself buying more and more cd’s lately. Speaking of which, the latest one I sent for was Canibus - MiClub The Curriculum. If you’re into hip hop you should definitely give it a listen, if not then I’d probably suggest another route as your intro to the genre as Canibus is very intense lyrically. That’s what’s in the “tape deck” (or winamp as the case may be) nowadays anyway. I guess it’s back to work now.< /RAMBLE >
