Canibus - Rip the Jacker
Y’all all are gonna have to excuse the lack of posts but I’ve been going through some shit recently that has kept me occupied. Ummm, did I just say y’all? Okay now you KNOW I’m not myself. Anyway…
As always music is keeping my head straight and able to still function. Recently it was the Gang Starr album, The Ownerz. Currently on rotation at KARM radio a.k.a. my Winamp music player is Canibus’ Rip the Jacker album. If you’ve heard Canibus’ music before, let me just say that this is by far his greatest music yet. If you haven’t heard his music before, well, you’re more than welcome to sample it below. Don’t get turned off by the complexity of the lyrics though, there’s an interesting story he’s telling; it might take a few listens for it to grow on you.
One of my favorite tracks from this new album is No Return. Canibus raps, over an interesting reggae style beat, three verses. Each one is a different version of his death. I thought it was really creative. Check it out…
