Welcome Week 2003
Wow, welcome week came and went pretty quick. This week has been exhausting; I worked like 55 hours and I went out the past three nights. I made a load of cash and I had lots of fun but still, very very tiring.
Today it was extremely hot in Berkeley, I overheard the news say record-breaking heat. Around 4 I remembered that I now had access to a pool so I went and took a dip for a bit and sat out and cooled off. Argam and Nas, his friend from G-Dale who was visiting this weekend, joined me. There were some dzooks splashing around but they couldn’t swim very well; we got a good laugh out of that. Later I made my first run to In N Out in my car up here. I just love having a car up here, I get to see things and explore places I had never bothered to go before because they would take too much walking to get to.
A couple days ago Argam and I went to drop the other Armen off at his place up at Grizzly Peak before we made a Safeway run. I offered to drive him because I’ve just been trying to familiarize myself with the streets and areas outside of the immediate area around the school. We went all the way up into the hills by Euclid and we passed the Rose Garden that I didn’t know about. We also passed by a spot where there was an incredible view of the entire bay; I wish I had someone to take and enjoy it with some nights.
After In N Out tonight we picked Diko up and went up to LBL and were chillin’ there for a little while. Also a great view from up there and one hell of a drive to go on if you have a BMW or any car that handles nicely. Bruce Banner bikes up to LBL in The Hulk every day for work but let me just say that if he actually did that, he was already The Hulk before he fell into that radiation. That’s one NASTY hill!
Caltopia came and went; it’s a nice addition to the list of Welcome Week events. I worked our booths from 9:30 until 3:30 on Saturday, then I came home and I passed out until about 7. I was thoroughly exhausted from the week’s events and I couldn’t even will myself to go to the concert I bought a $10 ticket for. I’m glad at least my brother went and enjoyed himself there. I keep saying I’ll go to the next concert and every time for some reason I end up missing it. I guess concerts and me just weren’t meant to be.
Two classes I want to take about networking that interest me but they overlap on Wednesdays. Makes me want to split in two so I can attend both. I finally find some classes that I think will hold my interest at this damn school and the scheduling doesn’t let me take one of them. Oh well, I’ll figure something out. It’s the first day of classes tommorrow and I’m pretty drained by the hot weather today so we’ll call it a night here.
Oh yeah, I’m selling my laptop to anyone who’s interested. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, I’m just a computer geek and like having the latest and greatest things, and my laptops missing a couple, even though most people (including me) don’t really have a use for those things yet. Anyway, you can find out all about my cool little laptop here. I just realized I deleted the pictures I took of it. No that doesn’t make any sense to me either. I’ll take some more and put them up tomorrow or the next day.
